Enriching Lives Through Inclusive Outdoor Experiences
We’ve built a strong community around the idea of living without limits. It’s through this community that we change lives, one camp at a time.
For over 60 years, Twin Cedars has been a haven for people of all ages, identities, and abilities. What started on 40 acres in 1955 has grown to a 300-acre campground that serves thousands of Oklahomans each year.
While a lot has changed since 1955, our mission to enrich lives through outdoor experiences has never wavered. In addition to hosting our own camps, we proudly partner with dozens of organizations that call Twin Cedars their home away from home.
Members of Disciples of Christ churches in central and northwest Oklahoma organized land, resources, and facilities for the founding of Central Oklahoma Christian Camp. Starting with 40 acres, a pond, and tent camping, a church youth camp was born.
The 1960’s brought major improvements to our facilities. Camping evolved to include wood cabins and concrete block cottages. A swimming pool was constructed and additional land was procured as more camp events were booked.
In the late 1970’s, Central Oklahoma Christian Camp began hosting camps for individuals with disabilities. This shift led to the formation of Make Promises Happen in the early 1980’s. Over the years, MPH has grown into a premier, statewide camping program with inclusive, accessible experiences and off-site excursions.
Over 60 years later, Central Oklahoma Christian Camp has grown to nearly 315 acres, featuring 4 ponds, rustic and modern lodging, recreational areas, and conference facilities for 200+ people.
As a nonprofit youth camp, Central Oklahoma Christian Camp was renamed Central Oklahoma Camp and Conference Center. The change was made to better serve the large number of nonprofits, religious assemblies, leadership and civic organizations, and community partners that call Central Oklahoma Camp their home away from home.
Central Oklahoma Camp and Conference Center was announced as the winner of the Impact Grant. This annual grant awards one nonprofit a pro bono brand project from local agency Nominee. As of May 10, 2024 Central Oklahoma Camp & Conference Center has been renamed Twin Cedars. This is a nod to our location (#1 Twin Cedar Lane), our beautiful woodland setting, and our commitment to partnering with campers and their families.
